MASA

Mutual Admiration Seed Association
During his 40 years in organic agriculture, founder Rich Pecoraro lived and worked with several Mexican families. One of the many gifts he received from these rich experiences was the making of traditional corn tortillas. His interest in the traditional bread of Mexico led him to growing indigenous corn varieties for making masa, the dough for making corn tortillas. These seed stocks are now being bred for production in the Front Range. He currently works with organic farmers in Mexico who grow these corns for his locally distributed tortillas known as Abbo Blue, Abbo Blanco and Abbo Verde. MASA also means Mutual Administration Seed Association to us.
